Temporary Map Page

This page is only temporary until I can build a presentable one. This is mostly for hosting my maps for public consumption.
Battle for Crete Beta Release!

This is the first beta release of my first map attempt for Battlefield 1942. It's based on a real battle that took place on the Greek island of Crete in 1941. The British-held island was an important strategic base due to it's proximity to the mainland and oil fields of Ploesti, Romania. Hitler needed these resources to make his big push into Russia.

This is a conquest map only, and contains unique features like the new Ju88A and British-skinned Willys and APC from the official EA map Battle of Britain.

Future Plans.

They include custom skins, models, and effects providing positive feedback on map layout. At the moment I'm a little concerned that the two ends of the island itself are too close to the map boundaries for pilots. If you find this is the case as a result of playtesting, please let me know. I'd kind of like to know that I need to rebuild my map from scratch if this is a fatal flaw now rather than after I've done all the modding.

More Modding.
09-01-03 I started working on Secret Weapons editing to see if any of those vehicles could be incorporated into my map using the same techniques I outlined in my tutorial. So far I've gotten the BMW motorbike in but the sound isn't working fully yet. The sound scripts seem to be calling files that weren't present in the objects.rfa, which is strange.

I also can't get the Harley Davidson to spawn in at all. Not sure what the problem is here, it might have something to do with how it defines the weapon template. I won't spend too much time on this, and if I can't get it working I may drop it so I can release my map sooner.

Work continues.

M3Grant!
This is the result of my most recent effort into light modding. I'll be changing the vehicles around and reskinning most of them to get them a little closer to period-correct.

This map will not require the Road to Rome expansion to run!
